About SMART

An official web edition of the SMART project record, connecting research evidence with practical learning.

Why this website exists

Water research is more useful when its original evidence remains accessible and its ideas can be followed by a new reader. This edition preserves the SMART research record and adds newly written guides and transparent calculation tools.

What belongs to which period

Original reports retain their authors, publication dates and institutional credits. New guides are prepared by the SMART editorial team. Historical researchers are not presented as reviewers of the new website.

The site is an official restoration authorised by the current project representative. Current editorial enquiries go to [email protected]. The historical consortium is documented in the original publications.

How to use it

Start with a topic guide, inspect a calculation or go directly to the original documents. Read our editorial policy for sourcing and corrections.
